Engine Change: I fixed an issue in the Starship where the equip slot suggesting the placement of Hovering items in the back room of the Captains Quarters was actually not functioning. This required an engine change, so be sure to clear cache and refresh your browser if you are not seeing Omega Ver. 4.0.2

New Hovering Items! Lyris made a couple of terrariums (terraria?) and an aquarium and they are in Lisa's shops on the Starship. The Hovering Aquarium and Hovering Desert Terrarium sell for credits, and the Hovering Terrarium is in the Nova Gem shop.

3) Help Wanted! Volunteers!

Are you passionate about MechQuest? Do you have an eye for detail and a nose for news? Do you want to help find the Gremlins (hunt the bugs) so we can get them fixed? We need a couple of qualified volunteers to join our Bughunting team! 

Are you an artist and/or animator who uses Flash? Do you love creating mechs, high-tech weapons to equip to them, and perhaps even animating your creations? We are also looking for volunteers to add to the MechQuest development team. We especially need artists and animators who can provide the game with new mecha-equippable weaponry.

A New Room! The New Year is a lovely time to do some decorating. Star Captains, you are getting a new room in your starships tonight! I've started making some new items for you - there's a Hovering Goldfish Bowl that goes quite well in the Floor slot on the far left of the new room, with more hovering-style items to follow in the weeks ahead. Also new, for the Wall slots, is the Snow Globe On A Shelf. (The new part is the shelf. The snow globe was previously only available on a table as a floor item.)

MQ On YouTube?  A dedicated longtime player known as DrePlaysGames on YouTube has started a series of MechQuest videos! Here's the link to his channel . (Disclosure - he's not just a random player, but actually someone I know in real life.)

Do you have MechQuest videos, or ideas for them that you've never gotten off the ground? Let's see what you've got! Email me the link to your video or channel, or you can also use Twitter to let me know. You've got a chance to get it shared on the Design Notes. No guarantee of course - if I get a zillion responses I'll end up having to pick some randomly to highlight.  They don't have to be instructional - they can be amusing or exciting or surreal or whatever direction your artistic vision takes you. What they should be to qualify as something I might share is pretty simple - they should be clean - no hax, no swearing - and basically family-friendly. 

Flavescent Friday Wishlists! Start making your wishlists because we'll have a forum post for your input shortly.  What's Flavescent Friday, you ask? We put items into a special limited-time discount shop for you and also choose a few rare items to include (some of those are not discounted).

The Cursed Tape Reappears... will you watch?

• Work with River to secure the tape before EbilCorp gets their hands on it!
• Complete the quest to unlock the Cursed Mod Tape!

(Find River by talking to Jack on Soluna City's Main Street)

AdventureQuest Worlds

Quest to recover 7 of the 13 cursed artifacts in AQWorlds:

• Death’s Cursed Hourglass 
• Cysero’s Doom Sock 
• Unholy Wasabi 
• Cursed Chickencow Claw 
• Zorbak’s Haunted Skull 
• Dragon Khan’s Corrupt Scepter 
• Sir Ver’s Cursed Power Button

Once you have recovered all 7, talk to Artix to merge them into the Omni Artifact!

• Battle opponents in 1v1 and 2v2 matches, then take on the boss to gather the shards of Titan's cosmic coffee mug!

AdventureQuest  

Artix has been cursed, and is stalking the wilds with the ShadowFire Axe of Curses!

• Use the Battle Monsters button to hunt for Artix and the ShadowFire Axe of Curses!
• Defeat him to unlock a shop to get the Axe for yourself!

DragonFable

Enter the Wastelands to find a scrap of the Mysterious Necromancer's cloak!

• Look in your Book of Lore to find directions to the Wasteland.
• Complete the quest there to find the cloak!

HeroSmash

The 12th anniversary event is heating up... and so is Hottica's zone!

• Head to Hottica's zone and battle the Igneos, Rhyolite, Dacite, and Andesite monsters for a chance to find Hottica's Cursed Shield!

After you've recovered all the artifacts listed above:

Head to the Portal Site and log into your Master Account. 
Go to the Quests tab to check your event progress. You are looking for 7 green checkmarks. If a game is not checked off, you have not found the artifact in that game. 

If you DO have all 7 checkmarks, you'll see a box appear saying "Congratulations! You have found all the cursed artifacts!"

Click the link that says "Click here to get your prizes!" and you will go to your Achievements tab. You should see "Artix Entertainment 12th Birthday Event" achievement under "What's New?"

Click that to get your prize code, then go to the "Redeem Codes" page to unlock the OmniKnight Blade in each game!

In honor of the 12th anniversary, players of all seven of the company's games have a joint mission: to find all 13 Cursed Artifacts. 

In MechQuest: Your mission is to meet up with River at 472 Limegreen Terrace.* She will fill you in on what's happened and what you need to do to help! Gather up the cursed artifact before it's too late...

Hint 1: To find River, you should go to Soluna City's Main Street and have a quick chat with Jack.

Hint 2: You really can't miss Jack standing next to Braddock Steele.

Hint 3: When a shop opens, you should be sure to take that item and keep it in your inventory because it's necessary for your collection!

Greetings!
Many of you have been asking what we had planned for the next big storyline and now you all can find out! You can access the new quest, which will begin the brand new main storyline, in Soluna Main right now!
Right now you'll be able to access it without having to play "The End", the end of the previous main storyline, but that will change in two weeks. If you haven't completed the ending, which includes the conclusion of the biggest war against the Shadowscythe ever, you really should first as this new quest might be a bit confusing if you haven't.
There's also a limited time reward if you complete the quest now. There's a brand new mecha drawn and animated by Minar!

Gianna Glow also has an important note from the Bughunters:

Anything about loading being stuck on the loading screen isn't a bug. Thats the result of us joining with the DF servers if I understand things correctly. To fix this they need to clear cache and relog. We're getting a lot of those bug reports and they can't be fixed.

I will let Captain Rhubarb know that we're getting a lot of these reports and will see whether he can do some kind of magic to improve this issue. For now, please just try clearing your cache and logging in again if it happens to you - and sorry for the inconvenience!

The AE panel is happening now (2:30 Eastern Time) in Grand Salon D at the Hilton - if you're at Dragon*Con you can sign up with Ash to get your Genuine  DragonConquest Scepter. Sorry I can't be there with you this year.
